Dates to Remember
November 13, 2017
The students did a wonderful job during the SAT10 this past week. Their display of perseverance and patience was evident as they worked and sometimes waited for fellow classmates to finish.
We have wrapped up Topic 5 "More Practice with Multiplication and Division" and started our review. We will review again on Monday in preparation for the test on Tuesday. Please continue to oversee their practice of multiplication facts. This week we will have a Quick Check over X5 facts on Thursday. This is the second round for X5. As a reminder, your student is shooting for getting 20 out of 24 problems correct in 1 minute. At the rate they are learning, I suspect many students will hit this goal on the second round of Quick Checks!
Math Facts Challenge: If your student has met the Quick Checks goal, they will be given a sheet of 40 problems to see how many they can complete in the 1 minute time allotment!
We will complete Chapter 4 "Classifying Living Organisms" this week. We will be discussing the life cycles of the butterfly, the frog, and the bobcat. Due to The Great American Teach In on Wednesday, we will review in class on Tuesday and take the test on Thursday.
